Updating rhel 4

Installed: httpd24-httpd.x86_64 0:2.4.6-18.el6 Dependency Installed: httpd24-apr.x86_64 0:1.4.8-3.el6 httpd24-apr-util.x86_64 0:1.5.2-7.el6 httpd24-httpd-tools.x86_64 0:2.4.6-18.el6 httpd24-runtime.x86_64 0:1.1-4.el6 That’s the minimal needed for an httpd 2.4 installation.

This solution works for me, don´t know, if this is a solution for others.

But, I am quite sure you will face hell lot of dependency problems and worst case, system might break.

There's no newer version of core RHEL components available (GLIBC, kernel, etc.). See: In Cent OS 6.x, how can I upgrade to Kernel 3.4?

Maybe this has a drawback, but someone should explain where the drawback is when using a newer 6.

while i am working without flaws with this solution. The yum packet manager seems to function in a normal way and if there should be a problem, i would try to fix this as well, but there is no problem (until now).
